Hi! Did you want to stop by one of the craft shows but just didn’t get there? Do you need ideas for teacher gifts? How about that sister-in law who has everything? I will be hosting a ‘drop in and shop’ gift idea shop every Tuesday until Christmas along with some of my crafty friends! You can get things monogrammed on the spot (first come first served of course), place orders for things like car and cellphone monograms and other gifts, and pick up stocking stuffers, holiday bows and Hanukah gifts! Email or call if you need any other information of have any questions! We may be adding some other days as well depending on our schedules! Pass it on!

Hi, did that catch your attention??? Comcast is having 'technical issues' - to say the least - bottom line, i have no email access, so if you have to get ahold of me, call my cell at 839-8153. I still haven't heard from a couple of people yet, and since I don't have email, could some of you who know other players get in touch with them? Thanks girls!

Thursday, October 30th

Hey Girls! We will be 'home' this Thursday - hey, saves us a trip to punta gorda! So far, I have Tina, Shelsea, Laura, Deanne, Choon Dho, Holly if we need her, Sherri, oh, and me! Couple of people I still haven't heard from - if another girl wants to play, I'm sure Holly would like a break, and I am also willing to play cheerleader if someone wants to play for me - I started boot camp this week and am currently having some 'walking' issues!

New Home in Paradise

Hi all you Three-Oh Chicks. Moving can be such a stressful time, but with the help of my Sweet Honey and my wonderful parents (along with Cole Bro's Moving), I am at my new address. I'm now living off Daniels Parkway in Colony Pointe at 7643 Cameron Circle. I see we are playing in Punta Gorda this coming week. I'm in!!!! Hey Chicks!

So, here I am in Orlando - my husband has an anesthesia conference - what a sleeper! So, obviously I'm not going to be there tonight - but we are heading home tomorrow!

Please let me know if you are planning on playing Thursday and what you would like to play. Now that we have 12 people on our team, there will be a few extra people - I already know some people can't make it, so I will assign people matches on a 'first come first to serve' basis (aren't I so witty). I thought that people who don't get to play a match this week could still show up and cheer and also practice together - we'll just get an extra court.

Another item - we are 'home' team this week so we provide some 'refreshments' - which will consist of drinks primarily, and maybe some fruit or simple snack - if anyone want so help out, or has some ideas, let us know! We are playing Mid-Cape this week.

Look what I made! Isn't it cute - its a Tennis Chick - I'm trying to create a really cute embroidery design for our team - its entirely possible that I am spending too much time on the little things! ha ha ha

I'm always looking for new tennis designs other than the 'old standbys' so feel free to make suggestions - I think my daughter will totally dig this design, might be too cute - let me know what you think!

I've never had so much fun losing!

So, we did it! we played our first matches, and I think we were great! We all won some games (ok, I only won one) but I think we all had some fun and got rid of the jitters! Thank you to everyone - we even got a great picture - next time, lets take the picture before we play!!!

Can't get enough tennis

Hi all you tennis chicks. I have to agree with Leanne about wanting to get a number of "chicks" together to play some tennis. I've been playing at Fort Myers Racquet Club for a number of years, players have come and gone, but I am still hanging in there trying to improve my tennis game, be a good competitor, and enjoy tennis as a life sport. I am so glad this all came together and am looking forward to some more match play!! See ya'll tonight! Choon Dho (pronounced Shawn Doe)

SUCCESS

What is success - well, I've have a glass (or two) of wine and I have been sitting here planning our 'team' and I feel like, win or lose, we are already successful just in putting together a team! Okay, maybe my goals aren't lofty enough, but for a long time I have been wanting to put together a network of people who want to play tennis. I realize not everyone is willing or able to commit to league play, but I am so impressed with the girls who are! Its takes guts to sign up for something like this and you just can't take yourself too seriously!

I really want to use this blog as an opportunity for people to set up matches or practice outside of, or in addition to our league play. I hear so many girls talk about wanting to get into a league, but not feeling quite ready. K-Swiss is a great place to start, but its singles. And sometimes people just want to find other people to play with.

So, I am really looking forward to playing with all of you! I like every one's enthusiasm and sense of humor - and I think we're going to do great!!!

p.s. Jennifer -I found Hudson's flip flops in my kitchen after you left - I'll bring them tomorrow night! Blake had so much fun playing with him and before he went to bed he said "when is my new friend coming to come back to my house?"

Hey Chicks!

We’ll plan on meeting tomorrow night, just for a few minutes, I guess I’ll have everyone come here to my house, which is 13885 Bald Cypress Circle, I live in Reflection Lakes – you go to the second gate on your left (Las Palmas) and find my name in the call box (Luehrman) – I’ll let you through the gate and then you just follow the street around until you get to my house – I have a half circle driveway with a Toyota Sequoia parked outside. Hope to see you around 7-ish?

If you can't make it, don't worry, but please let me know if you are more interested in playing singles or doubles! Also, try to recruit some more people so we have subs for the days people have to miss - we already have a problem with 2 people having to miss this Thursday - can't complain though, its a birthday party! Happy Birthday Holly!!!

Mini Clinic?

Is anyone interested in having a short practice or mini clinic tomorrow night at 7 - just for 45 minutes or so, i could get Patrick or Seibo to come out and give us some last minute tips/encouragement!!! Let me know what you think!

Singles? Doubles?

So, let me know what you are interested in playing - we can't all play doubles though - you big bunch of babies! We will have to come up with some kind of rotation if that happens - something like, "who are we going to throw to the lions tonight?"

Personally, i like to play both, but i am also realistic and looking at some of the other teams rosters, there are people on those teams who are very strong singles players - of course I'll take one for the team, so no pressure, but if you think you'd like to try some singles, and you've got some skills, then step on up to the plate!!!

Meeting? Outfits?

So, do people want to pop over here to my house Wednesday evening to meet each other and discuss some strategy - figure out who wants to play singles, doubles? Tina suggested around 7 pm - just a quick meeting - I think it would be nice if we could at least recognize each other at the match! ha ha ha

Also, Tracy brings up an important point - do we want to try to 'coordinate' our tennis outfits from existing items we already own - maybe we can eventually try to get 'team' outfits, but lets just get started first - there are some tough players on the other teams, but we're tough too! Give it some thought and let me (and everyone else) know!
